Emailing "LogMeIn Rescue Lets IT Remotely Configure iPhone E-Mail"
LogMeIn has added a number of new features in the latest release of LogMeIn Rescue, a remote support solution for PCs, Macs and smartphones, including the Symbian, RIM BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and now (in a limited way) Apple's iPhone platform.
Consequently, included in the LogMeIn Rescue upgrade is the ability for technicians to initiate a remote chat session with iPhone users to push e-mail configuration settings remotely. The idea is reduce the time it takes to get iPhone users set up on corporate e-mail accounts.
As for other types of smartphones, LogMeIn Rescue's console now includes integrated lookup and access to a database of hundreds of martphone e-mail configurations. These settings are pre-populated and pushed out to users' devices.
In addition, LogMeIn Rescue gains supports for unattended access to Macs and PCs, which provides technicians with permission-based access to work on a computer when a customer or employee is not present.
